北宋·林逋 山园小梅

众芳摇落独暄妍，占尽风情向小园。
疏影横斜水清浅，暗香浮动月黄昏。
霜禽欲下先偷眼，粉蝶如知合断魂。
幸有微吟可相狎，不须檀板共金尊。

关于梅花花神，一说为北宋诗人林逋（字和靖），就是上面这首诗的作者。他隐居于西湖孤山，终生不仕。 相传他以梅为妻，以鹤为子，后人所说的“梅妻鹤子”指的就是他。

另一说是明代戏曲《牡丹亭》中柳梦梅，在梦中，他在梅花树下遇见为情而死的杜丽娘，其后杜丽娘还魂与柳梦梅相结合，成就了一段曲折姻缘。

还有一说是唐玄宗的妃子江采频，她性喜梅花，在宫中种梅并筑梅亭自赏。于是唐玄宗给她赐名为“梅妃”。

不过流传最广的说法还是这首曲子中所说的寿阳公主。寿阳公主是宋武帝的女儿。她天生丽质，清纯脱俗，最喜欢梅花。一年正月初七，寿阳公主到宫里的梅花林赏梅，一时困倦，就在含章殿檐下小睡，正巧有朵梅花落在她的额上，留下五瓣痕迹，拂之不去，宫女们都觉得这梅花瓣的印记使公主更添几分妩媚，于是纷纷效仿，以梅花印在额头上，称为“梅花妆”，也叫“寿阳妆”。世人便传说公主是梅花的精灵变成的，因此寿阳公主就成了梅花的花神。
